NEW DESIGNS FROM THE NEW DCU 52 PANEL AT SDCC

Today at Comic Con visitors were treated to how characters are designed from start to finish for comic books and DC Comics showed off some early looks to a couple key Batman universe character designs.

In Batman: Year One, Ben McKenzie takes on the iconic role of Bruce Wayne/Batman during his first year of “service” to Gotham. While doing press for the film at Comic-Con, I had a chance to participate in a small roundtable with the Southland actor who seemed genuinely grateful for the opportunity to voice the character in the animated adaptation of Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli’s classic tale.

CCI: DC COMICS' BATMAN PANEL

Even with all the changes coming to the DC Comics Universe with the impending September relaunch of 52 new titles, the world of the Dark Knight remains a remarkably solid part of the comics marketplace. Though the creators and editors behind DC's Batman line came out in full force at Comic-Con International 2011 in San Diego to prime fans for their new twists on Bruce Wayne's world in a panel Thursday afternoon.
